Our pricing system
There are generally 3 ways in
which the cost of the move is determined as outlined in the summary of
information for shippers of household goods, New York State, DOT
(1)
For short moves, generally
40 miles or less, the charge is based upon the time it takes to do the
job. The mover will quote an hourly
rate for a van and a number of workers, usually three. These moves are referred to as
hourly-rated
moves.
(2)
On longer moves, the charge is based upon the amount of
items you wish to move. The mover will
quote you a rate for the items you wish to move. If you require additional services such as packing or storage
etc., there will be additional charges.
(3)
For moves of any distance the mover may, if it has a
provision in its tariff, offer a written binding estimate. This is a written form contract covering all
of the transportation charges and services agreed to by you and the mover.
It is important to remember
that, with the exception of written binding estimates, the exact cost of your
move cannot be determined until the job is completed on an hourly rated move or
until your goods are loaded onto the van, based on cubic footage.
Companies will send an
experienced estimator to look over your household effects and give you a
written statement of the probable cost of the move (estimate). It is your responsibility
to show the
estimator everything you intend to move and what special services you may need.
The statement will give you an
approximation of your moving cost so that you can plan your financial
arrangements in advance of your moving date.
If you have not made arrangements with the mover for credit, he will
insist on payment of the actual charge in cash, or by certified check, money
order, travelers check or cashier’s check.
If the actual charges exceed the statement of the probable cost, you may
defer payment of part of the excess as follows:
Hourly rated moves: If the total charges exceed the written statement
(estimate) by more than 25%, the mover is required, at your request, to deliver
your goods upon delivery of the probable cost plus 25%
Cubic Footage: If the total
charges exceed the probable cost (estimate) by more than 10%, the mover is
required, at your request, to deliver your goods upon payment of the probable
cost plus 10%.
Written binding estimates: If a dispute
arises over variances between the actual quantity of goods moved or services
performed and the written binding estimate, the mover is required, at your
request, to deliver your goods upon payment of the amount of the written
binding estimate plus 10%.
NOTE: You must pay the balance in 15 days (excluding
Saturdays, Sundays & Holidays)

moving industry specializing in various moves from Fine Art relocation

At All American we maintain a system wide

comprehensive and innovative relocation and storage services.
Relocating of any description takes a great
amount of time and expense involved in relocation; it is imperative that all
parties involved understand who is responsible for what. Every customer has special needs that must
be satisfied. The whole process of
moving can take several months. Many decisions must be made as you shop and
design the new home or office, arrange to leave the old one, look for a new
bank, school, doctor, etc. - and try to accomplish everything within budget.
The closer you get to moving day, the more psychological and emotional stress
take their toll on you - and rightfully so.
When the moving day arrives and it's all
happening in front of you, things can start to feel overwhelming. It's understandable;
your private items are out of your house and on the truck, you are leaving your
home and neighborhood...it can feel like everything is out of your control. But
don't worry, with All American on board, you will relax and you may even enjoy
the move!
What to Expect from a Good
Moving Company
At times customers don't know what to expect
from a moving company. Here is a list of what All American considers the
customer's "bill of rights" - all the services a customer deserves
and should look for from his mover.
-
Complete, accurate information and explanation about
the upcoming move. The more informed a customer is, the fewer
potential problems. In our opinion, an informed customer is an asset to a
mover.
-
A trained and certified sales representative.
The representative must be available 7 days a week to solve any problems
that arise before, during and after the move. A good estimate should be at
most within 10% of the final cost of the move.
-
A uniformed moving crew that is trained, courteous,
motivated and experienced. The All American moving team should
be an organized group who work methodically and efficiently. Your goods
should be perfectly wrapped and moved in an organized manner into the
truck, with nothing left unwatched in the process.
-
Clean, well-maintained trucks designed to move
household goods. This will reduce the chances of damage and
increase the efficiency of the move. All trucks should be air-ride and,
obviously, cleaned daily.
-
Proper moving equipment. A sufficient amount
of up to date packing material must be available to
conduct all moves
safely and smoothly.
-
Prompt, courteous post-move services, especially on
Long distance relocation. The customer should expect a phone
call after the move to verify that it was completed to his or her satisfaction.
If any damage has occurred, the mover must respond in a professional
manner. Regulations allow a mover 120 days to solve a claim, but it is in
the best interests of both parties to settle the issue within 30 days.
-
Secure, climate controlled, professionally operated
storage facility. It does happen at times that a moving
customer may need emergency storage, short/ long-term storage or storage
to consolidate his goods for long-distance shipment. Assuming the mover
has storage facilities, they should be clean, protected by an effective
security system and staffed by trained personnel to assure the safekeeping
of your property. A climate-controlled environment is especially important
where Fine Art etc. are concerned.
-
Punctuality of the movers. All pickups and
deliveries should be on time.
An experienced & efficient
management team is important. It is
important that the people you are dealing with are sensitive to your relocation
needs and are up to date with their services and equipment. Moving is a complex business therefore being
kept informed is a priority for both the company and the customer. Experienced,
professional and ethical managers help provide consistent, quality service to
every
customer.
